Import, Export & Delete

To access the Import/Export/Delete page, click on the Import/Export link in the left navigation of the Extension Settings. Or click here.

Export

• To export Skills or Skill Buttons, click the appropriate tab, select the items that you want to export, and then press the EXPORT button.
• Selecting/deselecting the checkbox in the header row will select/deselect all the items.
• A .json file will be downloaded to your computer. You can use this as a backup, or to share Skills or Skill Buttons with coworkers.
• When Skill Buttons are exported, their corresponding Skills are also included in the .json file.

Import

• To import Skills or Skill Buttons, press the IMPORT button, read and acknowledge the warning, and then select a .json file to import
• Only Ask Steve .json files will work
• It's good practice to export/backup your current configuration before importing new Skills or Skill Buttons.

Delete

• To delete Skills or Skill Buttons, click the appropriate tab, select the items that you want to delete, and then press the DELETE button.
• Selecting/deselecting the checkbox in the header row will select/deselect all the items.
• Confirm deletion and your items will be deleted.
• You should feel free to delete any Skills that you don't want or need! You can always add them back later from the Skill Library

Pro Tip

The Ask Steve .json files are just text files that can be edited, so if you need to make bulk changes you can export, make your changes, and then re-import.
